Given $- 3 \le 3 - 2 x \le 9$

Subtract 3 from left, center, and right:

$- 6 \le - 2 x \le 6$

Multply left, center, and right by -1/2. Note: When we do this, we change every $<$ into $>$

$3 \ge x \ge - 3$

Because of symmetry, this can be written as if we had not changed them at all:

$- 3 \le x \le 3$
