# How do you solve compound Inequality x+2>7 or 7-x>13?

Jul 27, 2015

Let's do them both separately.

#### Explanation:

Remember you can always add or subtract equal amounts at both sides without anything happening.

First:
$x + 2 > 7 \to x > 5$

Second:
$7 - x > 13 \to 7 > 13 + x \to - 6 > x \to x < - 6$

These two cannot be combined in an AND-situation, but you can say EITHER $x > 5$ OR $x < - 6$
