#x-y=12#
# x = 12+y# ..........equation #(2)#

substituting equation #(2)# in equation #(1)#
#6(12+y)-2y=0#
#72+6y-2y=0#
#72= -4y#
#y = -18#

substituting the value of #y# in equation #(2)# to find #x#:

#x = 12+y = 12 -18 = -6#

the solution for the system of equations are
