#4x-5y=-1# (lets call it "1")

and

#2x+y=5#

then
#4x+2y=10# (lets call it "2")

(Subtract 2 from 1)

#-7y=-11#

#y=11/7#

Hence:

#2x+(11/7)=5#

#2x=(35/7)-(11/7)#

#2x=(24/7)#

#x=(24/7)/2#

#x=(24/14)#

#x=(12/7)#
