Use the formula

$x = \frac{- \left(- 5\right) \setminus \pm \sqrt{{\left(- 5\right)}^{2} - \left(4 \times 3 \times 4\right)}}{2 \times 3}$

$x = \frac{5 \setminus \pm \sqrt{25 - 48}}{6}$

$x = \frac{5 \setminus \pm \sqrt{- 23}}{6}$

Cannot take the square root of a negative number so no real solutions.
