# How does pH relate to acid concentration?

Sep 17, 2017

The lower the value of the pH the more concentrated the acid.

#### Explanation:

pH is the negative log of the Hydrogen ion concentration.

If the pH is 2 then the negative antilog of 2 is $\frac{1}{10} ^ 2$ or 1/100

If the pH is 1 then the negative antilog of 1 is $\frac{1}{10} ^ 1$ or 1/10

so the lower the pH value the more concentrated the acid
