How does static electricity related to the net charge of an object?

If you want to calculate the net charge of an objects, you will calculate the sum of all the static charges of that object.

For a neutral object the #sumQ# = 0 because all the positive charges cancle out with negative charges .

If the object is charged, the #sumQ# = #sumQ_(extra)# and these charges are static offcourse.
