How is the amount of Karma determined for a response to an answer? Sometimes I see 100 karma for a thank you and sometimes 50 karma for a thank you .

Karma is calculated by looking at your #%# contribution. Writing an answer gets you #50# karma. If you're the only contributor to an answer, then a 'like' will get you #100# karma.

For answers that you have contributed to, the karma is split according to the #%# contribution.

If you have #50%# of an answer, for example, then a 'like' given to that answer will get you #50# karma. For #20%# of an answer by contribution, you get #20# karma, and so on.
