It can take as long as 12 minutes or 1 hour depending on the distance of the spacecraft to us.

Radio waves travel at the speed of light because they are electromagnetic radiation, for example, it takes between 3 and 22 minutes for NASA to be able to communicate with a Mars Rover, and another one when receiving it.
