# How would you describe the bond that would form between lithium (L) and fluorine (F)?

As I recall, lithium fluoride is none too soluble in water. The $L {i}^{+}$ ion is small, and ${F}^{-}$ is the smallest halide. This decreased solubility may be attributed to the strength of the Increased electrostatic interaction, based on the size of the ions and $\text{Coulomb's Law}$.
For comparison, $N a F$, is much more water soluble.
