#stackrel("Dispersion", "Dipole", "Hydrogen", "Ionic"~= "Covalent")rarr#

Explanation:

I have got these in the wrong order by the terms of the question... A #"covalent bond"# is stronger than an #"ionic bond"#, the which is stronger than an #"hydrogen bond"#, the which is stronger than an #"dipole-dipole bond"#, the which are stronger than #"dispersion forces..."#

I find that a better determinant to assess physical states of matter, i.e. gases, solids, liquids, is the MOLECULARITY of the substance. Molecular substances, i.e. gases, water, carbon dioxide, TEND to be volatile, and have accessible melting and boiling points... Non-molecular substances, metals, quartz, ionic salts, diamond, TEND to have HIGH melting and boiling points...
