In a large ripple tank, a wave producing machine working at a frequency of 30 Hz produces 25 complete waves in a distance of 0.5 m. What would be the velocity of an individual wave? Thanks!

By using #v=d/t#, I found 60 cm per second. I don't know what #lambda# would be if I used #v=f#lambda#

I tried this but I am not sure I got the question right...

Explanation:

You know that #25# complete waves (each one of length #lambda#) fit in a distance of #0.5m#, so:
#lambda ("one wave")=0.5/25=0.02m# which is the wavelength of one wave:
Using:
#v=lamda*f=0.02*30=0.6m/s=60(cm)/s#

#"There are 24 "lambda " between 25 complete waves"#
#lambda=(50)/24=2,08 cm#
#v=lambda*f#
#v=2,08*30#
#v=62,4(cm) /s#
