Immunization is a process designed to help our bodies fight off a particular infection caused by a pathogen in a more effective way, it strengthens the bodies immune response.

Vaccination is the most widely used form of immunization:

Upon vaccinating with a particular pathogen which is the antigen, our bodies elicit an immune response and create antibodies which are specific for that antigen (pathogen) .

These antibodies fight away all the antigens and all that remains at the end are the antibodies which circulate the body for years.

These antibodies have a memory factor and they can now remember the pathogen they just fought against so next time in future if the same pathogen were to cause an infection, the immune response of the body will be very quick in recognizing this particular pathogen and will fight against it.
