What is the difference between a bulb and a tuber?

1 Answer

On the basis of shape and structure:-

  • They are enlarged stem tissues
  • They are either flat or cylindrical in shape.
  • Some of the examples are potatoes and dahlia.

  • They are round and oval in shape
  • They have white fleshy skin
  • They have an outer skin which protects them from the outer environment.

But both the tubers and the bulbs perform the function of storing food for the plants.
