What is the difference between nervous control and hormone control of the bodily functions?

Clearly there are many more differences; however, one of the biggest ones is

(i) Neurons generally use neurotransmitters or neuropeptides at synaptic gaps,
(ii) Whereas hormones travel through the blood to various locations within the body.

It's like talking to your neighbor versus visiting a long-distance girlfriend 5 hours away.
