What is the metallic character of the alkaline group?
Of the alkali metals...Group 1....
Well, they are malleable, i.e. they can be hammered into a sheet (the lower alkali metals are liquids), they are ductile, i.e. they can be drawn into a wire very easily...they are excellent conductors of heat and electricity. They are (duh!) excellent reducing agents...and readily form salts with non-metals.
