The slope is #oo# and line is vertical and parallel to #y#-axis

Explanation:

The slope of a line joining two points #(x_1,y_1)# and #(x_2,y_2)# is

#(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)#

Hence slope of line joining #(-2,8)# and #(-2,-1)# is

#(-1-8)/(-2-(-2))#

= #-9/0=oo#

Hence the line joining #(-2,8)# and #(-2,-1)# has #oo# slope i.e. it is perpendicular meaning parallel to #y#-axis.
