You need (i) mass of the baseball, and (ii) volume of the baseball.

So record an accurate mass. Next get a pair of calipers and accurately measure the diameter of the baseball, and halve this value to get the radius, #r#; the volume of the baseball is (to a first approx.) #4pir^3#.

#"Density of the baseball "=("Mass")/("Volume")#

When you do the experiment, would you please post the results here? I played a lot of cricket in my youth, and I know for a fact that leather bound cricket balls float; I would be interested to compare their density to that of the baseball.
