When electricity is produced from coal, the chemical energy in coal is first changed to what type of energy?
Coal burning generates thermic energy (heat) and luminous energy (light). The luminous energy is wasted but the the heat is used to boil a liquid.
This liquid gets heated, becomes a gas and start floating upwards (kinetic energy - movement), moving a fan strategically placed along the way.
This fan moves magnets, and a change in the magnetic field creates current, thus changing that kinetic energy into electric energy.
