Explanation:

Following the Yamasee War of 1715 the Creek nation severed ties to the British. A group of lower Creek clans and some smaller ties refused to sever ties with the British and settled near the coast where Savanah Georgia would later be built.

In 1733 Tomochichi agreed to move the Yamacraw village further upstream granting the land to the British. The leaders of the Creek nations claimed that Tomochichi was Creek as that spelling was not part of the Creek language and disputed his right to yield land to the British.
