  5. Are usually hard and brittle solids.
  6. Have high enthalpies of fusion.
  7. Have high enthalpies if vaporization.

Covalent Compounds:

  1. Have low melting points.
  2. Have low boiling points.
  3. Have widely varying solubilities in water.
  4. Do not conduct electricity.
  5. Are usually soft in the solid form.
  6. Have low enthalpies of fusion.
  7. Have high enthalpies of vaporization.
