Keeping this property in mind, the diagonal can be found by applying the Pythagoras theorem , as the length , breadth and diagonal together form a right angled triangle(diagonal being the hypotenuse).

breadth #= BC= 6.5 cm#

Diagonal #= AC#

Applying the Pythagoras theorem :

#AC^2=AB^2+BC^2#

#AC^2= (8)^2 +(6.5)^2#
