If we apply voltage #V# across a resistor whose resistance is #R# then the current #I# flowing across it can be calculated by

#I=V/R#

Here we are applying voltage of #15V# across a #12Omega# resistor, therefore, the current flowing is

#I=15/12=1.25# #implies I=1.25A#

Hence, the electric current produced is #1.25A#.
