Quicker to reproduce, Genetically identical (can be an advantage and disadvantage).

Explanation:

  • Offspring are genetically identical to one another (clones). This is an advantage when the parent is well adapted to the environment.

  • The parent saves time and energy by not needing to find a mate.

  • Very quick - bacteria can produce an offspring in about 20 minutes.

(If the plant is not well adapted to the environment then the plant and all its offspring will be wiped out from that land because they are clones. Unless there is a genetic change then the plant won't be able to adapt and evolve to it's surroundings).
