However, "2-butylene"2-butylene can generate cis and trans isomers as shown:

These are GEOMETRIC isomers, because the C-CCC connectivity is IDENTICAL for each isomer: C1C1 connects to C2C2.........to C4C4. Their different geometry gives rise to different physical and chemical properties.
