What is the purpose of producing transgenic plants?

Transgenic plants are Hybrid in nature ( Contain characters of two or more plants )

Their purpose is to create a plant which will compensate for two or more plants.

Example - Plant A has High yeilding capacity , Plant B possess Disease resistance ability then by Genetic Engineering we combine the characters of plant A and B into a single plant C.

Means Plant C will show high yeilding capacity as well as Disease resistance capacity.
