Slime moulds belong to the kingdom protista. They are also called 'false fungi' or 'animal fungi'

Explanation:

They are found on decaying twigs and rocks.Like fungi they are a group of decomposers and help in recycling minerals and important compounds such as carbon and nitrogen like fungi.Hence the name 'false fungi'.They are called 'animal fungi' as like animals, cell wall is absent when not reproducing which is a characteristic of animals and reproduce by spores having chitinous cell walls which is a fungal character.
