The equaion of line in slope intercept form is # y =x-14 #

Explanation:

Parallel lines have equal slope. The slope of the line #y=x-5#

is #m= 1 # (Comparing with standard equation #y=mx+c# )

So the slope of the asked line is also #m=1 #

Let the equaion of the line is #y= mx+c or y =x+c#

The line passes through # (-2 ,-16) # , so the point will satisfy

the equation #:. -16 = -2 + c or c = -16 +2 =-14 #

Hence the equaion of line is # y =x-14 # [Ans]
