Not a good question............they look for $N - H$, and $O - H$ bonds, and the ionic interaction between ammonium and hydroxide ion.....

$\text{Ammonium hydroxide}$ is a bit of chimaera......I like to represent it as ${H}_{3} N \cdot {H}_{2} O$, i.e. as aqueous ammonia. In aqueous solution ammonia undergoes reaction as a weak base.......

$N {H}_{3} \left(a q\right) + {H}_{2} O r i g h t \le f t h a r p \infty n s N {H}_{4}^{+} + H {O}^{-}$

But the equilibrium lies to the left as written........

Concentrated ammonia is approx. $15 \cdot m o l \cdot {L}^{-} 1$ with respect to $N {H}_{3} \left(a q\right)$. Sometimes this is sold as $\text{ammonium hydroxide}$.
