First off, I'd like apologize if this isn't quite the answer which you are looking for.

But, I thought that it might be beneficial to remind you that HF is a very weak acid and HI is a strong acid.

This means that they will behave very differently in solution. This also means you will want to treat them differently in preparation of a solution.

#HF# will not dissociate completely, and a solution of #HF# will have trouble conducting an electrical current. #HI# in solution would most certainly be able to conduct an electrical current, as it will completely dissociate .
