The perimeter of a rectangle is given by $P = 2 L \times 2 W$, where P is perimeter, L Is length and W is width.

$32 = 2 \left(x + 2\right) + 2 \left(7\right)$

$32 = 2 x + 4 + 14$

$32 - 18 = 2 x$

$14 = 2 x$

$x = 7$

Hopefully this helps!
