# How do you explain chemical equations?

Chemical reactions are in addition balanced with respect to mass and charge. What does this mean? It means that if you start with $10 \cdot g$, $100 \cdot g$, $1000 \cdot g$ of total reactants, you get $10 \cdot g$, $100 \cdot g$, $1000 \cdot g$ of total products. And thus chemical equations observe stoichiometry...the equality of reactants and products with respect to mass and charge.
