# How do you factor x(10x - 7) + 11(10x - 7)?

Apr 10, 2015

In general
$a k + b k = \left(a + b\right) \left(k\right)$
(This is the Distributive Rule)

In this case $k$ is an expression, $\left(10 x - 7\right)$, but the rule still applies

$x \left(10 x - 7\right) + 11 \left(10 x - 7\right)$

$= \left(x + 11\right) \left(10 x - 7\right)$
