${i}^{3} = i \cdot {i}^{2} = i \cdot - 1 = - i$
${i}^{4} = {i}^{2} \cdot {i}^{2} = - 1 \cdot - 1 = 1$
${i}^{5} = i \cdot {i}^{2} \cdot {i}^{2} = i \cdot \left(- 1\right) \cdot \left(- 1\right) = i$ AGAIN
${i}^{6} = {i}^{2} \cdot {i}^{2} \cdot {i}^{2} = \left(- 1\right) \left(- 1\right) \left(- 1\right) = - 1$
now it repeats the same pattern: $i , - 1 , - i , 1$ every 4.
