How do you sketch the region enclosed by the given curves and decide whether to integrate with respect to x or y, then find the area of the region of #2y=3x# , #y=5# and #2y+1x=4#?

#49//3#

Explanation:

First write all the straight line graphs in standard form #y=mx+c#.
From this you can deduce the x-and y-intercepts and draw the graphs and find the area enclosed.

The find the points of intersection of all the graphs I order to determine the limits of integration.

You will have to split this area up into two parts ad hence use 2 definate integrals. Each integral is the upper function minus the lower function.

Then integrate as normal and solve.
