# How do you solve 16t+ 7= 19t+10?

Jan 15, 2018

$t = - 1$

#### Explanation:

I know this is going to sound corny, but what my Math Teacher would say is to "group your 'Poke's' (as in the plural of Pokemons) to one side and your 'Yugi's' (as in Yu Gi Oh Cards) on the other side of the equal sign."

So following that logic...

Let's say numbers with the variable $t$ is our "Poke's." Let's say the numbers without the variable is our "Yugi's."

$16 t - 19 t = - 7 + 10$

$- 3 t = 3$
Isolate the variable. (Divide by $3$ or if you wanna be really smart divide by $- 1$).
$- t = 1$
Divide by $- 1$ or multiply by $- 1$, either way, you'll get the same answer; the reason for this is because you can not have a negative variable.
$t = - 1$
