How far can we see in our universe?

As we look further away we are seeing further back in time, since the speed of light is finite.

The earliest light we are now observing is from about #13.7# billion years ago, shortly after the Big Bang.

So you might think that that light has travelled from #13.7# light years away, but the universe has been expanding since that time, so that light is actually from a place that is #46# billion light years away now.
