There are three main shapes of galaxies.

Explanation:

Elliptical, Spiral, and Irregular.

Elliptical are those galaxies which has a shape that varies from round shape, nearly spherical to flat disk.

Spiral are those galaxies that has a thick mass material at the center and has flattened arm spiral around the center.

Irregular galaxies that do not have orderly shape.
