How many stars and planets are there in the universe?
More billions than astronomers can even guess.
The average galaxy, like the one in which we reside, has between 200 and 400 billion stars. There are about 300 billion galaxies in the known universe. The world "known" is key because it might be a lot large than we now believe and there may be a lot more galaxies than we can now detect.
I know this is a lousy answer but in truth, it is anyone's guess as to how many stars, let alone planets, there are in the universe.
