Just curious. when somebody copies an answer from an external source do you guys remove the answers or leave the answer like it?

Yes, copied answers get removed.

Explanation:

As a rule of thumb, copied answers will get removed.

Now, we try to flag these answers for plagiarism first and tell the contributor who posted them about why such answers are not supported on Socratic. More on that why that is here:

Other contributors are always welcome to edit such answers, but more often than not editing implies rewriting the answer altogether, something that is not very appealing to many people.

This is why almost all plagiarised answers are eventually removed - provided that we spot them first!

So, if you happen to spot such an answer, go ahead and flag it for plagiarism, we'll check it out as soon as we can!
