Bronchial smooth muscle possesses `beta2` receptors which causes bronchodilaton(due to relaxation of airway smooth muscle) and also release of allergic mediators are prevented from mast cells due to this `beta2` effect,associated in close relationship with bronchial blood vessels.

Hence,these `beta2` receptors are potent targets of drugs for relieving acute attack of asthma,which are designed to agonise their effects (like Salbutamol,Formeterol etc.)
