# What are examples of strong acids and bases, weak acids and bases, and neutral substances according to the pH scale?

Nov 13, 2015

The six strong acids that you should remember are
$H C l$
$H B r$
$H I$
${H}_{2} S {O}_{4}$
$H N {O}_{3}$
$H C l {O}_{4}$
Any other acid that you see you can consider a weak acid.

For strong bases, any hydroxide ($O {H}^{-}$) is considered strong. The base has better solubility if it is in a 1:1 ratio with the metal that it is bonded to.

For example, $C a {\left(O H\right)}_{2}$ is not as soluble as $N a O H$ .
