Now that Socratic has 1:1 messaging (yay!), you might be wondering what happened to the "notes" section, which the community had previously been using to send messages back and forth.

The notes section is still around, but only the following appears there:

  • Thank you notes, comments, or questions from other Socratic users on your answers—they look like this:

  • Thank you notes on your answers from students who don't have Socratic accounts—they look like this:

  • Per-paragraph comments on your answers
  • Thank you notes on videos you've uploaded

In short, this section is reserved for notes left on your answers or videos, and the messages section is reserved for conversation.
