When attempting to respond to someone by using the @ message, is there some way to identify that person's @ message ID? For example, I wanted to respond to a comment by "Peter M"; when I typed "@peter..." I got a drop down list but no matching picture.

Yes, if you add a "-" after the first name and then write the last initial, the search will work better. So try typing "@peter-m" and you'll see a better list of folks.

Explanation:

The way the @mention search is built right now doesn't make it easy to find someone if there are lots of other people on Socratic with the same first name.

You have two options:

  1. If you know the user's last initial, type it in after a dash, like "@peter-m".
  2. If you don't, go to the search bar at the top of the page and search for the user's first name. At the bottom of the results, you'll see "user results". You can keep expanding that list to see all users with that name.
