Both are very important and you can never simply decide which one is more important than the other.

Explanation:

In order to simply explain why we can't choose which is more important, we must first understand what these 2 organs primarily do.

  1. The Heart- It is the only blood pump inside the body. Without it, the blood will stay stagnant inside the blood vessels. Therefore, the blood will not get oxygenated because it cannot go to the lungs and cannot be distributed inside the body thus making life impossible to sustain. You are like a sponge full of water but cannot be squeezed to expel its contents.

  2. The Lungs- It inhales oxygen which then binds to the blood cells then circulate inside the body. After the body consumes the oxygen, it turns into carbon dioxide which is then exhaled by the lungs. So if you have a heart but no lungs to put oxygen in it, our blood is useless and again, making life impossible to sustain.
