Hox genes regulate body formation during development

Explanation:

Hox genes were first discovered in drosophila, fruit fly. Hox genes are cluster genes with a sequence of 180 base pairs. are alsoknown as homeobox. Later same genes were found in vertebrates including humans. These genes are highly conserved during evolution. regulating anteriority, posteriority and formation of limbs.
Humans have 39 hox genes. If hox gene 13 is mutated human limbs develop 6 digits instead of normal five digits
