How do you solve #4x+7=3x+18#?

I would collect all the #x# on the left and all the numbers on the right but remember to change their signs when you move them across the equal sign:
#4x-3x=-7+18#
Notice the change of signs of #3x# and #7#;
You get adding the #x#s and the numbers:
#x=11# which is the result of your equation!

Try to substitute #x=11# in your original equation to check that is the right result!
