Neutrons have zero charge.

In other words they have no charge.

Neutrons are made up of two down quarks and an up quark .

Down quarks contain a fractional electric charge of -1/3 .

Up quarks contain a fractional electric charge of +2/3 .

Neutron

= Down Quark + Down Quark + Up Quark

= -1/3 + (-1/3) + 2/3

= -1/3 -1/3 + 2/3

= -2/3 + 2/3

= 0/3

Therefore the neutron has a charge of 0 . In other words, the neutron is neutral.
