Explanation:

There is no "equation" here to evaluate but assuming the question was intended to be
#color(white)("XXX")#"What is the value of #arctan(pi/2)#?"

First note that the value #(pi/2)# looks suspiciously like it was intended to be an angle but the argument of the #arctan# function is not an angle. Perhaps this is an error or perhaps it was an intentional misdirection (???)

If #theta= arctan(pi/2)#
we have the situation with opposite to adjacent side ratios as indicated below:

This is not one of the "standard" triangles and the only way to (reasonably) evaluate it is to use a calculator (or trig tables) to get the value indicated in the "Answer" above.
