The star known as Alpha century A (Reigil Kent) is the second nearest star from Sun.
Explanation:
It is 1.34 parsec away from Sun.
So far no planets were detected around it,
But astronomers are waiting for larger space telescopes to be in orbit to check for exo,planets around Alpha century system.
